Our Story: Built on Innovation and Problem-Solving

How It All Began

EdgeOne Medical was founded in Chicago, IL by the wife-and-husband team of Lilli Zakarija and Jim McGough.

At that time, a few key factors were converging. First, the transition of therapeutic care from clinic to the homecare setting was taking off and drug companies were starting to pay more attention to devices and improving the ease of use for their patients. Second, there were many transactional testing labs for medical devices, but no one offered integrated comprehensive design verification testing services with an understanding of how those activities fit within the regulated medical device development process.

Seeing the trend of devices playing a more prominent role in the delivery of drugs combined with the lack of providers that understood how to serve the drug delivery systems, the founders saw an opportunity to fill a gap in the pharmaceutical industry.

It's probably worth noting that the adventure began when their children were 4.5yrs, 2.5yrs and 6mo old.
